How to create the read-only token (~2 min)
  1. Type your store domain above, then click the green button (it deep-links into your store admin's app-creation page).
  2. If Shopify shows “Dev Dashboard is your new app home”, click Build apps in Dev Dashboard. (Older stores instead show Allow custom app development — either is fine.)
  3. Click Create app, name it “Migration audit”.
  4. Add Admin API access scopes and tick the read scopes: read_products, read_customers, read_orders, read_content, read_discounts.
  5. Install the app on your store, then reveal the Admin API access token and paste the shpat_… value above.

Watch out: paste the token that starts with shpat_ — NOT the app Secret (which starts with shpss_) shown next to the Client ID. Those are different: the shpat_ token is revealed on the Install / API-credentials screen.

Read scopes only — this token can never change or write to your store.
