Managed DNS cutover · $47 add-on to any migration package

Going live is where migrations go wrong. Have the cutover handled.

The store is built and verified. The step that decides whether launch day makes money or loses it is pointing your domain at it — a change with no undo button, made in a control panel most owners open once a year, where one wrong record takes the shop offline for hours. For $47, you approve a go-live window and your migration engineer schedules, runs and checks the switchover with zero downtime.

What the $47 actually buys you

Every migration package delivers a finished, verified store. The cutover is the step between that store and your customers — and it is the one that goes wrong quietly, after hours, with orders not coming in. What changes with the Managed DNS cutover is who carries that risk.

Do it yourself — launch night

  • Track down where your domain's DNS actually lives — registrar, host, or an agency from years ago — and a login that still works
  • Make several precise changes in the right order at the right moment, in a control panel with no undo and no preview
  • Get the timing wrong and visitors keep hitting the old store for up to a day after you switch — sales going to a shop you are shutting down
  • Sit through verification and the certificate window with your store in limbo, refreshing to see if it worked
  • If the shop goes dark: work out which change did it, at midnight, with no orders coming in and nobody to call

Managed cutover ($47)

  • You approve the go-live window — a time that suits your business
  • You add your DNS or registrar access in your customer area (encrypted, auto-deleted)
  • Your engineer schedules, runs and checks the switchover to the new store
  • Zero downtime: your old store keeps selling until the new one is answering on your domain — no dark shop, no lost orders
  • Anything looks off, it is our job to fix — not yours, not at midnight
Going live is where stores go dark. Have the cutover handled, just $47
Pointing your domain at the new store is the one migration step with no undo button. Get one thing wrong and your shop is offline — no orders coming in, customers hitting an error page — and once you spot it, DNS can take hours to a full day to catch up. With the Managed DNS cutover you approve the go-live window and your migration engineer schedules, runs and checks the switchover with zero downtime: the old store keeps selling until the new one answers. Nothing for you to touch on launch night.

How it works

  1. Add the cutover — one click

Opened this page from one of our emails? The button above charges $47 to the card you paid with and attaches the cutover to your order instantly. Otherwise it takes you to sign in first, so it lands on the right order.

  2. Add your DNS access and pick a window

In your customer area, choose your DNS provider and add the login or an API token. If your domain is not connected anywhere yet, add the registrar instead and we set the DNS up for you. Tell us the launch window you would like.

  3. Your engineer runs and checks the switchover

At the approved time they point your domain at the new store, confirm it is answering and that the certificate is in place. Your old store stays live right up to that moment, so there is no gap in trading. You get an email when it is done.

🔒 Your access is safe. Encrypted at rest (AES-256), decrypted only by your migration engineer, automatically deleted 30 days after you save it — and you can delete it yourself any time from your customer area.

Questions

Is the cutover already in my package?

Complete, Concierge and Enterprise include the managed cutover, so this add-on never appears on those orders. It is for Standard DIY migrations that want the go-live handled too.

When and how am I charged?

Once, $47, when you click the button. If you arrived from an email about your order it goes straight to the card on file; otherwise you sign in and the same one-click button is on your order page. No subscription.

What if my domain is not connected to any store yet?

Then there is no DNS to move — we set it up. Add the registrar where you bought the domain instead of a DNS provider and we configure the records for the new store.

Will my shop be offline during the switch?

No. The old store keeps taking orders until your domain is answering from the new one. That is what the approved window and the engineer on the other end are for.

What does it cost if I get it wrong myself?

Whatever your store takes in an hour, times however long it is down. A wrong record is rarely spotted straight away, and once corrected DNS can take hours to a day to catch up everywhere — so a small mistake at 9pm can be a full trading day lost, plus the customers who hit an error page and did not come back. That is the risk the add-on takes off your plate.

Can I do it myself instead?

Nothing stops you, and the migration itself is the same either way. This add-on is for when you would rather not be the one holding the DNS records, and the consequences, at go-live.
